Right now, we’re searching for an MCR Technician (EIC) for our Stockholm office – are you ready to hit play on an exciting career change?
The role
The MCR in Stockholm is the central hub for all productions across the different markets, and as an MCR Technician, you’ll contribute by delivering quality content to millions of fans across Europe. The main responsibility of the team is to coordinate and configure live transmissions. Job responsibilities include maintaining transmission service, coordinating reception of incoming feeds and outgoing transmissions in a 24/7 environment. You will communicate and coordinate between the markets and your role will be central. You are also first-line support on maintenance in production areas. You will be troubleshooting live on-air issues, monitoring and switching Viaplay streaming content as well as being the first point of contact for the MCR.
Evenings, nights and weekends incl. holidays occur according to a rotational shiftwork schedule.
What we’re looking for
We understand you may feel confident ticking certain boxes more than others and that’s why we always keep an open mind in our recruitment process. But, in order to thrive in this role, we do believe you’ll have at least some experience in the following:
Great attention to details and a strong ability to multi-task and make effective decisions in a high-pressure deadline-driven environment.
We believe you come from a technical broadcast background and are a problem solver who’s willing to address interesting challenges head-on. You are a good communicator, a collaborator who enjoys interacting with both colleagues and suppliers and takes an interest in evolving as a professional.
- Basic Swedish language skill is required but also fluently language skill in English
- Experience from TV production and knowledge of broadcast signals and formats
- Knowledge of technical systems (e.g. RF and AV matrices, SMPTE-2110, VoIP, ISDN)
It’s a bonus if you have:
- Experience from working with and understanding live sport
- A can-do attitude, sense of humor and the ability to work humbly with others.
