The Role
The Commercial Business Controller & Business Development Manager plays a key role in supporting the commercial performance and strategy executing in Viaplay Group Finland. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the Finnish organization, this unique position combines commercial business controlling with business development and project management responsibilities.
The role’s main responsibilities include providing financial and commercial insights across our Direct-to-Consumer and Allente businesses, as well as supporting these channels in driving profitable growth through financial analysis. In addition, the role supports other business channels through ad hoc commercial analyses and contributes to strategic initiatives and business development projects that drive the long-term growth and success of the Finnish market.
Key Responsibilities
Drive commercial business controlling activities for the Finnish D2C, B2C and Allente businesses
Provide reporting, forecasting and commercial analysis (KPIs, business cases, valuations, market information) for the decision-making and initiate cost control measures.
Analyze key business drivers and identify opportunities to improve business performance and profitability.
Manage and coordinate business development initiatives and support strategic assessments and projects when needed.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders across Finance, Commercial, and Product teams.
Support management with insights, recommendations, and decision-making material.
What we’re looking for

3+ years of experience in commercial business controlling, financial analysis, or a similar role
Strong business acumen and commercial mindset with excellent analytical skills and the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
A dynamic, self-driven, and proactive personality with a strong desire to make an impact and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Excellent networking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
A structured approach and strong execution capabilities.
High proficiency in MS Excel and Powerpoint.
An academic degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
It’s a bonus if you have:
Experience in business development, project management, or strategy-related assignments is considered a strong advantage.
Experience in the media industry is a plus.
A can-do attitude, sense of humor and the ability to work humbly with others.
