The role
As a Digital Agency & Client Manager, your primary responsibility is to manage, grow, and optimize Viaplay's digital ad sales business. You will work directly with media agencies, trading desks, and clients to drive revenue growth, improve campaign performance, and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders.
Client Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with media agencies, programmatic trading desks, and key stakeholders within the digital advertising ecosystem.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their digital advertising objectives and align those with Viaplay's capabilities.
- Serve as the main point of contact for programmatic media inquiries and ad sales support.
Campaign Management and Optimization:
- Oversee the execution and performance of digital ad campaigns, ensuring they align with client KPIs and objectives.
- Utilize data and analytics tools to monitor, analyze, and optimize campaigns for better ROI and efficiency.
- Provide clients with regular reports, insights, and recommendations for campaign improvement.
Programmatic Strategy and Expertise:
- Utilize programmatic platforms (e.g., DSPs, SSPs) to help clients achieve optimal campaign performance across digital channels.
- Leverage industry knowledge to advise clients on the latest trends in programmatic media buying, audience targeting, and digital advertising technologies.
- Collaborate with Viaplay’s internal teams to ensure the programmatic offering aligns with overall business goals and targets.
Business Development:
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional Viaplay products and services to existing clients.
- Play an active role in pitching and closing new advertising deals.
- Support the sales team in driving Viaplay's digital strategy forward, ensuring the development of new business relationships with key media buyers.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Coordinate with Viaplay's ad operations, tech, and product teams to ensure smooth campaign setup and execution.
- Work closely with the internal insight and B2B functions to promote Viaplay's advertising offerings and maximize campaign exposure.
- Participate in client-facing presentations, RFPs (Request for Proposals), and negotiation processes as needed.
What we’re looking for
We understand you may feel confident ticking certain boxes more than others and that’s why we always keep an open mind in our recruitment process. But, in order to thrive in this role, we do believe you’ll have at least some experience in the following:
Education and Qualifications:
- A degree in Marketing, Business, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications or training in programmatic advertising, digital media buying, or ad tech platforms would be an asset.
Programmatic Expertise:
- Proven experience working with programmatic advertising platforms, including demand-side platforms (DSPs), supply-side platforms (SSPs), data management platforms (DMPs), and ad exchanges.
- Strong knowledge of programmatic trading desk operations and media buying strategies.
Industry Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of digital advertising trends, programmatic ecosystem, audience segmentation, and media measurement.
- Familiarity with key digital advertising formats (display, video, audio, OTT) and how they perform in programmatic environments.
Client and Stakeholder Management:
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with a track record of managing relationships with media agencies, advertisers, and programmatic teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously while maintaining high service standards.
Technical Proficiency:
- Experience with digital media planning, analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics), and reporting dashboards.
- Comfortable using programmatic platforms (e.g., The Trade Desk, MediaMath, Xandr) and other ad tech tools.
Results-Driven:
- A performance-oriented mindset with a focus on meeting or exceeding client goals and KPIs.
- Strong analytical skills to assess campaign performance and implement optimization strategies.
