The Role 

As a Backend developer at Viaplay, you will be contributing hands-on by engineering a scalable and resilient framework and platform in Node.js and building new features focusing on navigation in a cross-functional product team. In your role, you will ensure we develop the platform to meet the challenges of a continuously evolving product, developing strategies to battle complexity and ensuring efficiency.

You will join a metrics-driven team of experts to deliver engineering solutions aligned with long-term technical and product visions. We build our entire product in-house with apps in native and cross platform languages. We strongly believe that being on the edge of things when it comes to technology is crucial, always keeping ourselves up to date and constantly challenging the status quo.

What we’re looking for 

We are looking for a passionate and experienced developer with a genuine interest in software engineering. You want to be a part of the why, what and how, and together with the team we shape the solutions. 

More specifically: 

• We believe you have worked in a customer-facing cross-functional product team and enjoy improving the customer experience.
• We believe that you are currently working in a role as backend developer and have been for a few years. Your favorite language is node.js even if you may dabble in other languages.
• You have solid experience working in an agile environment. You thrive in a high energy, team-driven environment. We believe you enjoy having fun with colleagues while also getting lots done.
