Security Engineer
At Viaplay Group, we entertain millions of people every day through our streaming services, radio networks, and TV channels. We believe in the power of content not just as a way of telling stories and touching lives, but also expanding worlds.
We’re looking for the best people to join us on our journey. Right now, we’re searching for a Security Engineer in our Stockholm office – are you ready to hit play on an exciting career change?
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Security Engineer to join our IT Workplace team, working as a core team member with shared responsibility and close, hands‑on collaboration across all areas of IT. You will support security operations, governance, and compliance within an outsourced, Microsoft‑based hybrid IT environment.
The role is responsible for protecting the organisation against cyber threats and embedding security best practices across the Group. You will work closely with colleagues and an outsourced IT partner to deliver effective and pragmatic security outcomes.
You will act as a technical lead for security operations, incident response, and security tooling, working collaboratively rather than in isolation, and ensuring security is integrated into day‑to‑day IT operations and change initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a security lead for IT modernisation and improvement initiatives
Work with the SOC partner to monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts and incidents across cloud, on‑premises, and SaaS environments
Act as the technical escalation point for high‑priority security incidents, coordinating containment, remediation, and recovery activities
Perform root cause analysis and post‑incident reviews, communicating risks and outcomes to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Administer and operate security tooling, primarily Microsoft Purview, Defender, and Entra
Design and manage the implementation of Zero Trust controls utilising Conditional Access, PIM, RBAC, and identity governance
Maintain and improve security policies, ensuring alignment with recognised standards and regulatory requirements such as ISO 27001 and NIS2
Support vulnerability management activities, audits, penetration testing, and third‑party risk assessments
Produce incident, threat, and compliance reporting for stakeholders
Drive continuous improvement of security controls, tooling, and processes
What we’re looking for
We understand you may feel confident ticking certain boxes more than others and that’s why we always keep an open mind in our recruitment process. But, in order to thrive in this role, we do believe you’ll have at least some experience in the following:
5+ years’ experience in cybersecurity or security operations roles
Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Purview, Defender, Entra, and vulnerability and threat management tools.
Experience working with outsourced IT services and SOC partners
Microsoft security certifications and other industry‑recognised cybersecurity certifications are highly desirable
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical and non‑technical documentation
Relevant education in IT, cybersecurity, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
