Operations Manager
At Viaplay Group, we entertain millions of people every day through our streaming services, radio networks, and TV channels. We believe in the power of content not just as a way of telling stories and touching lives, but also expanding worlds.
We’re looking for the best people to join us on our journey. Right now, we’re searching for an Operations Manager in our Stockholm office – are you ready to hit play on an exciting career change?
The Role
You will lead our Technical Operations Center (TOC) - the team that keeps Viaplay Group’s services running around the clock, every day of the year. The TOC is the nerve centre of our operations: monitoring, triaging, and coordinating the response to incidents that affect millions of viewers across the Nordics and the Netherlands.
As Operations Manager you will manage a team of TOC Agents, ensuring seamless 24/7 operational presence across both in-house staff and external partners.
Your role is equal parts people leader, operational owner, and continuous improvement driver. You will build a team that is calm under pressure, fast to act, and always learning — and you will make sure the processes, tooling, and culture are in place to support that.
The journey ahead
Viaplay is a dynamic company with new challenges constantly emerging - from major live events and product launches to unexpected incidents. Our operations must be resilient, adaptive, and continuously improving. You will be at the centre of that work, shaping how we run our TOC today and what world-class operational management looks like for us tomorrow.
Some of your work would include:
Lead, coach, and develop your team of TOC Agents - fostering a culture of operational excellence, psychological safety, and continuous learning
Own staffing and recruitment for the team, including ongoing evaluation of the team’s long-term structure
Manage the vendor relationship, ensuring quality, coverage, and alignment with Viaplay’s operational standards
Drive incident management practices: from on-call processes and escalation paths to post-incident reviews and root cause analysis
Own and continuously improve the operational runbooks, monitoring frameworks, and escalation procedures used by the TOC
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and other stakeholders to ensure operational readiness for new features, products, and events
Ensure seamless 24/7 coverage through effective scheduling and handover practices across in-house and vendor teams
Be responsible for employee well-being within a shift-based and on-call environment
What we’re looking for
To be our new Operations Manager, we believe you are an experienced leader who thrives in high-stakes, fast-moving environments. You understand what it takes to keep complex systems running 24/7 and you know how to build and support a team that does too. And if you, like us, enjoy having fun at work - we might be a match!
Ideal candidates also meet the following requirements:
Proven experience in a people management role, preferably leading an operations, NOC, or TOC function
Strong background in incident management, service reliability, and operational process design
Experience managing vendor relationships and external staffing partners
Comfortable working across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Structured, calm, and solutions-oriented under pressure
Ability to coach, develop, and build teams in a 24/7 shift-based environment
It’s a bonus if you have:
Experience from the media, streaming, or broadcast industry
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tooling (e.g. NPAW, Splunk, or similar)
Experience working in or alongside engineering organisations
What we offer you
We’ve got you covered! 30 days of paid vacation every year, an attractive pension and insurance scheme, and generous parental leave pay lift.
Your wellbeing matters. We provide you with various wellbeing initiatives including wellness allowance.
Flexibility that works. We follow a hybrid model with at least three days a week in the office, giving you the best mix of collaboration and focus time.
A safe space to grow and up-skill. Our learning culture puts you in the driver’s seat of your own development.
An innovative environment with Hack Days once a year. This week-long initiative allows you to think outside the box and deliver creative, technical solutions that (more often than not) go on to be implemented, either in our product or our ways of working.
Entertainment is what we love, and entertainment is what we do. So, unlimited access to Viaplay seems only fair for you to get to know the product – including serier & viewing events, new release movie rentals, linear channels and more.
