SVOD Content Planning Manager
At Viaplay Group, we entertain millions of people every day through our streaming services, radio networks, and TV channels. We believe in the power of content not just as a way of telling stories and touching lives, but also expanding worlds.
We’re looking for the best people to join us on our journey. Right now, we’re searching for a SVOD Content Planning Manager in our Stockholm office – are you ready to hit play on an exciting career change?
The role
As SVOD Content Planning Manager, you will own the strategic, long-term planning of Viaplay’s acquired SVOD content portfolio. You will translate content strategy, audience insights, viewing performance, and investment priorities into a clear annual and quarterly content plan that supports both business goals and audience engagement.
In this role, you will lead the SVOD Content Planning team and play a key role in shaping the future content offering across Movies, Series, Factual, and Kids. Working closely with colleagues across Content, Acquisitions, Editorial, and Strategy, you will ensure our portfolio remains competitive, balanced, and optimized for performance.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Owning and driving the annual and quarterly master plan for acquired SVOD content.
Defining content pacing, tentpole moments, priority windows, and key content initiatives throughout the year.
Analyzing viewing performance and audience behavior to identify opportunities and provide actionable recommendations.
Evaluating portfolio performance against targets and recommending adjustments where needed.
Identifying opportunities to optimize content investments through business cases, portfolio scenarios, and valuation insights.
Translating performance and portfolio needs into acquisition priorities and timing requirements.
Monitoring content plans and investments against budget frameworks and highlighting risks and opportunities.
Leading, coaching, and developing the SVOD Content Planning team while establishing clear priorities and ways of working.
Acting as a key cross-functional stakeholder, connecting content strategy, acquisitions, investment decisions, and editorial priorities.
What we’re looking for
We understand you may feel confident ticking certain boxes more than others and that’s why we always keep an open mind in our recruitment process. But, in order to thrive in this role, we do believe you’ll have at least some experience in the following:
Extensive experience in content planning, content strategy, media, streaming, entertainment, or a related commercial field.
Proven experience leading teams and driving strategic planning processes.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data, audience insights, and performance metrics into business recommendations.
Experience managing complex portfolios, budgets, and investment decisions.
Strong stakeholder management skills and experience collaborating across multiple functions and seniority levels.
It’s a bonus if you have:
Experience working within a subscription-based streaming, media, or entertainment business.
Experience with content acquisition, content valuation, or business case development.
Familiarity with audience analytics and content performance tools.
A can-do attitude, sense of humor and the ability to work humbly with others.
