The Role 

In this role you’ll be part of a cross-functional team focused on personalising the user experience, improving content discovery and learning about product improvements through experimentation. You’ll help discover and deliver features, run structured experiments, and use real user insights to create a personalised Viaplay user experience.

You’ll collaborate with product managers, designers, web, big screen, Android, and backend developers, to test ideas, learn quickly, and scale the ones that truly resonate with our users. Alongside your product team work, you will also be part of the iOS guild, collaborating with other developers to strengthen the iOS and tvOS platforms.

A high-level description of what you will be doing:

• Develop personalization features that adapt to user behaviour and preferences
• Participate in creating solutions that shape the future of the Viaplay apps, from hypothesis to rollout
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional colleagues to create seamless and engaging user journeys
• Contribute to the iOS guild by sharing learnings and helping improve the iOS/tvOS platforms

What we’re looking for 

We understand you may feel confident ticking certain boxes more than others and that’s why we always keep an open mind in our recruitment process. But, in order to thrive in this role, we do believe you’ll have at least some experience in the following: 

• Some years of experience in iOS development
• Proficient in Swift
• Experience developing user interfaces in UIKit and SwiftUI
• Solid understanding of iOS architecture, frameworks, and best practices
• Experience with API integrations, networking, and data storage
• Dedication to unit testing, code review and other quality-oriented practices
• A strong drive, curiosity, and eagerness to learn
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced team environment

It’s a bonus if you have: 

• Hands-on experience with experimentation (A/B testing, feature flags, hypothesis-driven development)
• Experience in Objective-C and tvOS
• Used or tried out modern Apple Frameworks, e.g. Swift Concurrency or Combine
• Strong understanding of CI (GitHub Actions) and Fastlane
