The Role 

As the new VP of Group IT & Tech Procurement, you will take full ownership and responsibility of an efficient development of the internal IT environment, technical tools & systems - ensuring that Viaplay Group employees are equipped with the tools necessary to maximize productivity, as well as overseeing the portfolio of vendor agreements and vendor relations across the entire Product, Data & Tech organization. You will bring some fresh energy and help figure out how AI can actually improve day-to-day operations.

You will lead a talented, distributed team of approx 13 talented people across Sweden, Denmark, and the UK. You will be the architect behind securing a smart IT system landscape and integrations which maximizes the productivity of their employees, whilst also securing a proactive procurement strategy and stakeholder management that ensures that they stay ahead of the curve.

You’ll report directly to the EVP, CTO & CPO and join the PD&T leadership team that covers everything from Engineering and Data to Product and Monetization.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading Leaders: Lead and motivate skilled and experienced managers using a context-driven and transformational leadership style.

• Group IT: Spanning across IT Operations, Security and Productivity, your responsibility is to drive transformation in order to enable the organization to become even more productive, whilst maintaining a cost efficient platform.

• Tools and systems: Own the toolkit (Office IT, Teams, Jira, Airtable, etc.) and make sure these tools actually help people work better, not just sit there.

• Tech Procurement: Drive a large agreement portfolio, managing high-value partnerships with the likes of Cloud platform vendors, SAAS vendors, CDNs, satellite providers etc.

• Innovation & AI: Act as a "mind opener." We want you to challenge the "we've always done it this way" mentality and show how AI and new tech can simplify our lives.

• Smart Governance and stakeholder management: Find that sweet spot where they have the right guard rails in place without IT becoming a "blocker" for the rest of the business.

What we’re looking for 

We’re looking for someone open minded, inquisitive and self-driven. You’ve got the seniority to command a room but the pragmatism to keep things simple. You thrive in an environment where strategies might shift, and you’re comfortable pivoting when they do.

We think you have:

• A strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire, develop, and guide teams through change. Comfortable being strategic as well as handson and an accomplished leader of leaders.

• Solid experience from running system integration projects, running internal IT operations and procurement and negotiation. Ideally from several companies, giving you a broad perspective and a sense of what good looks like.

• A pragmatic mindset to prioritize delivery and customer experience over rigid bureaucracy.

• A collaborative spirit, eager to share knowledge and expertise across teams and departments.
